Chris Lee
President of DDM
Christopher M. (Chris) Lee is the President of Deseret Digital Media, joining in June
2010. He was recently nominated for a three-year term on the board of the
Suburban Newspaper Association of America. Prior to his arrival at Deseret
News, Lee was Chairman and CEO at Heritage Makers, a marketer of web-to-print
personalized photo products. From its launch in 2005 through 2010, Heritage
Makers was one of the fastest-growing companies in America, listed among the Inc
500 in 2009.
Previously, Lee was the Director of New Business Development for Ancestry.com,
from 2004 to 2005, and Director of Product Management for MyFamily.com, a
unit of Ancestry focused on building a social network for families, from 1999 to
2002. During his tenure, MyFamily.com was honored by PC Magazine and Fast
Company as one of the best websites for families.
From 1994 to 1997, Lee was a management consultant for Monitor Company in
Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he worked with clients in the
telecommunications, energy, education, and financial services industries.
Lee graduated from Harvard Business School in 1999 with a Master of Business
Administration degree. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors
from Brigham Young University in 1994 with a double major in Economics and
Italian, magna cum laude. At Mountain View High School in Orem, Lee was the
Deseret News Sterling Scholar for Social Science in 1988.
Lee and his wife Kristen are the parents of five children. He enjoys coaching
soccer and basketball, and plays tennis with Kristen whenever they can get away.
They also enjoy traveling, cooking, gardening, and painting.
